cooking with fresh produce

tips and tricks

Cooking with fresh produce can be easy!

Think about adding raw fruits or veggies as a side to any meal or quickly cook up some servings of veggies using one of the methods below.

Microwave

Steam vegetables using a closed microwave container and a little bit of water.

You can even microwave corn on the cob with the husk on!

Stovetop

  • Steamed in a pot/pan with a lid and a little bit of water.
  • Stir-fry using a little bit of oil/butter. It works well with softer vegetables like peppers, onions, and spinach, but you can stir-fry almost anything.
  • Boiled using water until the vegetable is soft.

Oven

Bake by combining vegetable with a little oil and sticking it in the oven (~350 degrees) for 20-45 minutes depending on the vegetables. Be sure to check/stir the vegetable every 10 minutes.
