Farm Connect Montana’s current GusNIP grant for the Double SNAP Dollars (DSD) nutrition incentive program will end for statewide sites within the coming months. We have been keeping our eyes and ears open for the RFA for the next round of GusNIP funding, though there is no guarantee Farm Connect will be awarded the highly competitive and sought after funding. Numerous communities have been working towards locally raising funds for their own markets to continue operating their Double SNAP Dollars Programs through the end of the season. Some communities are reporting holding annual fundraisers where money will be raised for their DSD programs, while other communities have local foundations they are eligible to apply for funding through. Farm Connect Montana is continuing efforts to apply for statewide foundational grant and Missoula County grant funding to help sustain the DSD program through July, and beyond.
